Metal grade guide
- HMS #1 — Heavy Melting Steel, no sheet metal. Clean structural steel, frames, rails. Highest ferrous grade.
- HMS #2 — Includes thin sheet steel. Body panels, lighter structural steel.
- Copper bare bright — Uncoated, unalloyed copper wire, minimum 1/16" diameter. Highest copper grade.
- Copper #1 — Clean, uncoated copper pipe or wire. May have minor oxidation.
- Cat converter OEM — Factory-original catalytic converter. Contains platinum, palladium, rhodium. Range depends on vehicle — trucks and SUVs at the high end.
